What experience is necessary to dance at Steps?

None! We offer classes for students ranging from 18 months and up and classes for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. It is our goal to provide your child with a class in which he or she feels comfortable while being challenged. We always offer special classes for beginning teens so they can learn with their peers.

When should I enroll? Is it important to register early?

It is true that early registrants have more choices. Classes can fill up quickly. However, we having a rolling registration and continue to take new students until the end of January. You may join one of our technique classes at any time. If you join in the middle of a quarter, we will prorate the fee for that quarter to solely include weeks attended.

How large are the dance classes?

We keep the classes at a size that ensures each dancer will receive the attention they need. The style of dance and age of student is considered when deciding class size. Larger classes often have a teaching assistant.

What should be worn to dance class?

Our dress code is outlined under “Policy and Fees”.

Do you have a Dance Recital? How many costumes do I need to purchase?

Yes! In June we have a professional quality recital, which allows our dancers to showcase their growth and acquired skills. All recital classes require one costume purchase. Prices can be found under “Policy and Fees”. Technique and acro classes will not perform at recital.

Can parents watch dance classes?

Yes, parents are welcome to view our dance classes. Our studios feature one-way windows, which allow you to observe your dancer in classes without causing distraction. Parents will also be able to observe their dancers' classes over Zoom.
