A better workout than the gym. A more meaningful hobby than scrolling. A chance to try something you've always wanted — or rediscover something you loved as a kid. Adult classes for real people, no experience required.
Whether you danced as a kid and want to get back into it, always wondered what a tap class would feel like, or just need a better workout than another Peloton session — our adult classes are built for you. Small groups, patient instructors, and zero judgment about starting from scratch at any age.
Classes are 45 minutes to 90 minutes long. Most run once a week and can be joined mid-session. And unlike our kids' program, there's no requirement to perform in the recital (though you're absolutely welcome to if you want).
45min Cardio Class
Cardio and dance-based fitness in a fun, low-pressure format. Get the workout of your week without the boredom of a gym — and no complicated choreography to memorize.
45min
High-energy hip hop for grown-ups. Learn real choreography to current music, get an incredible workout, and rediscover how fun moving to a beat can be. Perfect for total beginners.
90min Technique Class
Classical ballet in a low-pressure setting for adults. Whether you're returning to ballet after decades or trying it for the first time, you'll build strength, posture, and grace in a supportive environment.
45min
Rhythm and tap technique for grown-ups. Tap is secretly the most joyful class in the studio — it's impossible to feel stressed while making that much noise with your feet.
45min
Classic jazz technique in a low-pressure adult format. Turns, leaps, and stylish choreography — perfect for adults who took jazz as kids and want back in, or dancers ready for something more technical than Dance Fit.

Absolutely not. Every adult class at Steps welcomes total beginners. Our instructors are experienced at teaching adults from scratch, and we don't move on until the room is with us. Many of our regulars started their first-ever dance class in their 30s, 40s, 50s, or later. If you can walk, you can dance.
Nope. Our adult students range from early 20s to 70s. The body is remarkably adaptable at any age — you'll gain flexibility, strength, and coordination faster than you'd expect. And dancing is one of the most researched activities for maintaining cognitive health as we age. It's actually one of the best things you can do for yourself.
Perfect place to start. Our adult classes meet you where you are and build up. Modifications are always offered, and you're in charge of how hard you push. Most students see meaningful improvements in stamina and flexibility within a few weeks. You do not need to arrive already fit to take a class.
Yes. Our adult classes attract a wide mix — total beginners, folks returning after years away, and a few longtime dancers who love the community. Nobody's watching you or judging your progress. Most people are too focused on their own steps to notice anyone else's.
Completely normal — and it passes quickly. The first class is always the most vulnerable. By class three, most people are laughing at themselves and having a genuinely good time. The environment is warm, low-key, and adult-appropriate. If you're worried, bring a friend the first time.
Dance Fit and Adult Hip Hop: comfortable athletic wear and clean gym shoes (indoor-only, non-marking soles).
Adult Ballet: form-fitting clothes that let the instructor see your alignment (leggings and a fitted top work), with ballet shoes or grippy socks.
Adult Tap: any comfortable clothes you can move in, plus tap shoes (we can help you find a pair). Hair pulled back for all classes.

Please do. Dance is more fun with a friend, and your buddy also gets a free trial class. Sisters, moms, coworkers, book club friends — everyone's welcome. Just have them register separately for the free trial.
No — recital participation is optional for adults. Most of our adult students take classes purely for fitness, stress relief, and fun. If you do want to perform (many folks find it exhilarating), we welcome you on stage. But there's zero pressure either way.
