Ages 4 and 5 are prime years for building the coordination, listening skills, and structured play habits that shape a child for years to come. Our program offers five different class types so families can pick the perfect starting point — or combine multiple to build a broader foundation.
Every class in the Ages 4–5 program is taught by instructors who specialize in preschool-aged dancers. Classes emphasize following directions, taking turns, and working with peers — skills that translate directly into classroom success. And of course, every class ends with the joy of dance.

Each class has a different focus. Dance Exploration is our broadest combo (tap + ballet) and the most popular starting point. Bitty Ballet focuses on ballet only. Tiny Tappers focuses on tap only. Tiny Tumblers is all about tumbling and acro. Kidz Jazz & Hip Hop is upbeat and energetic. If you're not sure where to start, Dance Exploration gives your dancer a taste of everything.
More than most parents realize. Dance classes teach kids to follow multi-step directions, wait their turn, work in a group, focus for extended periods, and manage transitions — all core kindergarten skills. Plus, the physical benefits (coordination, balance, stamina) support everything from playground games to sitting attentively at a desk.
Yes — and many do. A popular combination is Dance Exploration plus a focused class like Bitty Ballet, Tiny Tappers, or Tiny Tumblers. This builds broad foundations while letting your child dive deeper into a favorite style. Multi-class family discounts apply.
Perfect — this is a great age to start. Dance Exploration is designed as a first-time experience with no prior technique required. Our instructors are experienced at welcoming brand-new dancers alongside those with a year or two under their belt.
Dance Exploration, Bitty Ballet, and Tiny Tappers: leotard, tights or leggings, ballet shoes, and tap shoes (as needed).
Tiny Tumblers: leotard and shorts or leggings, bare feet.
Kidz Jazz & Hip Hop: athletic wear and non-marking gym shoes.
Hair pulled back for all classes.

Yes! Ages 4-5 students perform in our winter Holiday Show and present two routines in the end-of-year recital at Neuqua Valley High School. For many families, the recital becomes the highlight of the year — and the pride your child feels stepping onto that stage is genuinely something to see.
Once your child is in kindergarten or first grade, they can move into our K-1st program — which introduces more structured technique classes and slightly longer class formats. Your instructor will help guide the transition and recommend the right next classes based on your child's interests.
